Are you confident in diagnosing and managing hock fractures?
Are you interested to see how other veterinarians manage different hock fractures?
Hock fractures are one of the most common career threatening injuries to the racing greyhound. With routine racing the greyhound hock is subjected to tremendous stress and undergoes a remodeling process over time which potentially leads to failure.

This presentation will provide:
An explanation of the biomechanics acting on the hock throughout racing.
Case examples of the types of fractures we see as veterinarians.
Critically evaluate radiographs to assist with surgical planning.
Consider the advantages of advanced imaging like CT.
The surgical approach and some tips on different fracture repairs.
Advice of post-operative care.
Assist in preventing and/or managing complications.
